Did you really think the 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQS would escape the rendering frenzy? Of course you didn’t, so let’s give a warm welcome to one of the first digital illustrations of the electric luxury sedan that portrays it in AMG Black Series form.

Imagined by Aksyonov Nikita, it sports a angry-looking front end, with a more aggressive bumper, muscular bonnet, and reinterpreted fenders inspired by the AMG GT Black Series along with big side skirts. A huge wing rests on the trunk lid, and the rear bumper appears to soldier on, albeit without the metal trim under the reflectors. Elsewhere, the car is finished in black and rides on the same wheels as the real EQS models.

Obviously, this is an OTT rendering of a hypothetical AMG EQS Black Series, because such a model would need a much cleaner looking styling if it were to attract the brand’s regular clientele.

While a Black Series version seems like a stretch of the imagination, a more performance orientated AMG range-topper has already been announced by the German carmaker. That variant will boast 715 horsepower, according to Mercedes, and it could do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in around 3 seconds. The EQS 580 currently needs 4.3 seconds with its 516 HP dual-motor powertrain, while the EQS 450, which uses a 329 HP single-motor set-up driving the rear wheels, is almost two seconds slower.
