Mitsubishi has quietly announced that it will revive the Ralliart brand.
The Japanese car manufacturer killed off the Ralliart brand in early 2010 but during the company’s recent earnings call, it confirmed that the brand will be making a comeback. Accompanying the announcement was a single image of a Mitsubishi Triton / L200 outfitted with a host of Ralliart parts. Presumably, this will be the first model that Mitsubishi launches under the revived Ralliart brand.
The image shows the pickup truck wearing a Ralliart livery with red accents. It also features red mud flaps, black wing mirrors, and a distinctive front fascia with a skid plate and more red accents.
During its earnings call, Mitsubishi added that it will introduce a host of Ralliart parts and accessories, although it didn’t divulge too many details. Perhaps of even more importance is confirmation from Mitsubishi chief executive Takao Kato that the company will re-enter motorsports.

“For customers who wish to experience our Mitsubishi-ness, we will launch custom-made accessories for our model lineup as well as re-entering motorsport events around the world,” he said.
It remains unclear what model or models Mitsubishi plans to return to the world of motorsports with, although it did underline its commitment to plug-in hybrid powertrains and included a photo of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV that was previously raced by Hiroshi Masuoka and Pascal Maimon.
Ralliart was initially established in Europe back in 1983 and competed in the World Rally Championship, taking multiple race wins and championship titles. The brand was later used to denote a host of high-performance road cars from Mitsubishi.
