Almost one year after the official unveiling, the Nissan Ariya has celebrated its public premiere at the Monaco Circuit.
The electric coupe crossover completed a few laps of the famous track in the French Riviera, accompanied by the company’s e.dams Formula E racer, and also took to the surrounding area for a photo and video shoot.
“Ariya’s public driving in the streets of Monaco is a great way to witness the capabilities of our e-4ORCE technology”, said Arnaud Charpentier, the Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania) Vice President of Product Strategy and Pricing. “Ariya is the epitome of Nissan’s innovation in electric mobility, and this event marks a defining moment in the next chapter of Nissan’s EV journey.”

Staying true to the 2019 concept that previewed it, the Ariya features a futuristic styling on the outside and a minimalist cabin that brings everything required from a modern ride, such as the large infotainment system that supports over-the-air updates and digital dials, each one with a 12.3-inch screen. It is equipped with the brand’s ProPilot 2.0 safety bundle that includes remote parking and semi-autonomous driving.
Two rear-wheel-drive variants are positioned at the lower end of the range, with a 65 and 90 kWh battery, and 215 and 239 HP respectively. The quoted range is 280 and 379 miles (451-610 km) respectively, and they can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 7.5 and 7.6 seconds, with a 99 mph (159 km/h) top speed. The AWD versions use the same battery packs and bring 335 and 389 HP, having a targeted range of 267 and 360 miles (430-579 km) respectively. The sprint time drops to 5.4 and 5.1 seconds, and the top speed stands at 124 mph (200 km/h).
The Ariya will launch in Japan this summer, priced at 5 million yen (equal to $45,885), and will arrive in North America, Europe, and China by the end of the year.
