Porsche recently revealed that the 911 would be the last car it electrified if it ever did at all. Fortunately for those who think an electric 911 might be cool, there’s Everrati, a small tech company from the UK.
The company has revealed its “Signature” series, a fully restored, EV swapped 1991 Porsche 964 911 that can go 150 miles on a charge and hit 62 mph in less than four seconds thanks to its 500 hp motors.

The team starts with a clean 964, stripping it down to the monocoque, which is water-blasted down to its zinc coating and inspected carefully. The team then seam welds the monocoque, strengthening and refabricating where necessary in order to get it to better-than-new standards.
If you’re worried at all about messing around with and throwing out air-cooled Porsche bits, so is Everrati, and the team strives not to do anything that it can’t later undo.
“It is sacrosanct that all engineering is reversible, should current or future owners want to revert back to the car’s factory specification,” says Nick Williams, COO. “If customers wish, the car’s original internal combustion engine and transmission can be refurbished and placed in storage, or even incorporated into a piece of art, such as a glass gable or Perspex box.”
From there, an EV powertrain is installed along with a 53 kWh battery pack. According to Mike Kerr, the team’s director of engineering, who previously held roles at Lotus and McLaren, managing to integrate the electric drivetrain while being sympathetic to the car is one of the biggest challenges and joys of working at Everrati.
What “attracted me to Everrati was the obsessive level of detail the company goes to ensure that its EV technology is integrated sympathetically,” says Kerr. “But there’s more to it than that. The transformation to electric power also involves the optimization of weight distribution, chassis response, and safety to enhance the performance of the original, reinvigorate its character and soul.”
To ensure that it all feels right, the team partnered with former BTCC champion and Porsche Carrera Cup Driver’s champ Tim Harvey to set up the car’s handling. Although the car’s aluminum rear trailing suspension arms are retained, they are combined with new drop-links and bushings, and buyers can pick between standard suspension (that comes with adjustable coilovers) that provides a compliant ride for the road, or the fully adjustable suspension package that includes adjustable dampers for more performance.
“The ‘Signature’ widebody has the essence of an iconic 911, in terms of its rear-biased weight distribution and the ‘feel’ of its controls, brought right up to date thanks to the incredible performance from its electric powertrain,” says Harvey. “In this way, it is great to think that future generations will still be able to enjoy the 964 in an era of zero-emission mobility.”
To cap it all off, much of the body is replaced with carbon fiber body panels. These are put in place of the front and rear quarter panels to help give the car its widebody aesthetic and lighten it a bit. The doors are also made of carbon as is the roof (unless you want a sunroof), though the front and rear bumpers are genuine Porsche parts.
And to make it all a little more comfortable for modern motorists, the interior is modified with enhanced Porsche electric adjustable seats, a Porsche Classic Communications Management infotainment system for all your Bluetoothing needs, and new EV gauges inspired by Porsche’s style.
This is just Everrati’s latest offering. Along with the 964 911 Coupe, Targa, and Gulf Signature Edition models, the company also gives similar treatment to the Land Rover Series IIA and the Mercedes-Benz SL Pagoda.
For the 911, though, you can expect to pay at least £250,000 ($353,753 USD) plus relevant taxes. Prices depend on the car supplied, though, and the amount of work that goes into making it better-than-new. Order books are open and deliveries are set to start in late 2021.
