To the casual observer, the Citroen 2CV may look to be nothing more than a weirdly-shaped French hatch that can do nothing more than potter around narrow European streets at the speed of a snail. However, those with knowledge about the 2CV know that it is much more than that.

Built by the French car manufacturer between 1948 and 1990, the 2CV is beloved for its design and go-anywhere abilities and if you want a particularly nice example, we may have found just the car for you.

Listed up for sale in Honolulu on Bring A Trailer, this 2CV is a 1987 Charleston variant and was refurbished in Belgium before being exported to the U.S. in June 2013. The car is being sold with a clean Hawaii title and has been driven roughly 91,000 km (~57,000 miles).

During the restoration, the car was refinished in marron and black two-tone and also has a chrome-finished grille surround, round headlights, a retractable cloth roof, rear fender skirts, fold-up front windows, and a glass rear window. It also sits on maroon 15-inch steel wheels with Toyo tires.

The cabin of the 2CV is clad in diamond-quilt gray cloth complemented by black door panels. The car has been equipped with an aftermarket CD player with rear speakers. And both the front and rear cloth seats appear to be in good condition.

Power comes courtesy of an air-cooled 602 cc flat-twin engine that sends power to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
