Renault has teased the upcoming Megane E-Tech Electric.

Shown during today’s Renault Talk event, the Megane E-Tech Electric will be “released in the very near future” and promises to embody the “future of connected and full-electric cars.”

While that isn’t much to go on, the company confirmed the crossover will be launched next year and feature Renault’s new logo. The latter was jointly developed with Landor & Fitch and will spread across their entire lineup by 2024.

Renault also teased the crossover’s interior, which will have “high-tech on-board systems and top-of-the-line screens.” As you can see, the Megane will have a digital instrument cluster that flows into a large infotainment system with a portrait orientation. We can also see a floating center console and a ‘chin’ that houses a wireless smartphone charger. Elsewhere, there are toggle switches, wood trim and contrast stitching.

While Renault was tight-lipped on specifics, the model was previewed by last year’s Megane eVision concept. It rode on the CMF-EV platform – which also underpins the Nissan Ariya – and featured a 60 kWh battery pack. The latter fed a front-mounted electric motor that produced 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque, and enabled the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than eight seconds.

The Megane E-Tech Electric was teased as part of the company’s “Nouvelle Vague (New Wave)” plan. It’s designed to transform the automaker into a company focused on technology, services, and clean energy.

Speaking of the latter, Renault aims to be the “greenest brand in Europe” as 9 out of 10 vehicles sold in 2030 will be electrified. The company also aims to have the highest percentage of recycled materials in new vehicles by 2030.

Shorter term, seven models will be released in C and D segments by 2025. All of them will be electrified and this will help Renault achieve their eco-friendly goals.
