Six Corvette Convertibles will cross the auction block over the coming week at the Mecum Auctions Indy 2021 sales event.
The classic Corvettes come from the collection of Dr. Mark Davis and consist of a 1958, a 1964, a 1965, a 1966, a 1967 and a 1968 model.
The first is one of only three 1958 Corvettes to win the NCRS Bowtie award and the only one painted in Signet Red to win the 5-star NCRS Bowtie award. It is a three-owner car and was in the care of its original owner until 2011. It has a touch over 36,000 miles (~58,000 km) on the odometer and is one of 765 painted in Signet Red with white accents. Mecum expects the car to sell for between $135,000 and $175,000.

The most valuable of the six are the 1965 and 1966 ones, with pre-auction estimates that they will sell for between $200,000 and $250,000 each. The 1965 model has been driven 44,000 miles (70,811 km), remains in its original condition and is the only known red 396 Corvette to achieve Bloomington Gold Benchmark certification.
Meanwhile, the 1966 model is unrestored and has only been driven 11,400 miles (18,346 km), making it the lowest-mileage 1966 427 Corvette that’s known to exist. It is also a multiple-time award winner and will be sold with all of its original documentation.
Mecum expects the 1964 and 1967 cars to sell for between $125,000 and $150,000 each, while the 1968 Corvette Convertible could change hands for between $150,000 and $200,000.
