The Mercedes-Benz X-Class may not have lasted long before it was booted from production due to slow sales. Yet, someone decided to convert his pickup truck into an insane six-wheeler.
This unique X-Class was recently sold through Classic Youngtimers in The Netherlands and started out life as a regular X 350d. However, the previous owner clearly wanted something unique so they had a custom subframe installed that allowed for the fitment of a third axle and two additional wheels. Classic Youngtimers says this X-Class wasn’t built just for show and has actually been designed to be taken off-road and pushed to its limits.

With that in mind, the suspension has been jacked up by 10 cm which gave the seller room to fit the custom-made alloy wheels mounted with off-road tires. In addition, the plush pickup truck has been fitted with flared front and rear wheel arches to suit its bold new exterior.
Making this X-Class stand out even further is a front grille inspired by the Panamericana grille that is now commonplace on many current AMG models. Thanks to the new axle, the bed of the truck has also been extended and equipped with a roll bar and cage from Carlex Design. Found on the tailgate is a decal that reads ‘6 Wheeler,’ in the highly unlikely case you fail to notice the extra axle and wheels.
No changes were made to the pickup’s engine. As such, it continues to feature a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6 with 255 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque that’s coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
