The 2021 Ford Bronco will soon start reaching the hands of customers and while it has taken a little longer to launch than initially expected, those who have ordered a new Bronco will be pleased to know it will arrive with more power than originally expected.
When Ford first unveiled the new-age Bronco, it revealed that the entry-level turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder was good for 270 hp and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque, both very respectable figures. Ford also offers the 2021 Bronco with a turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that was rated at 310 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm). As it turns out, these figures were rather conservative, Bronco6g reports.

A booklet recently published by Ford detailing all of the technical specifications of the new Bronco states that the 2.3-liter model is actually rated at 300 hp and 325 lb-ft (440 Mm) with premium fuel or 275 hp and 315 lb-ft (427 Nm) with regular fuel. By comparison, the 2.7-liter V6 actually has 330 hp on premium fuel and 415 lb-ft (562 Nm), figures that reduce to 315 hp and 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) with regular fuel.
Hearing of these boosts in horsepower and torque will no doubt be music to the ears of Ford Bronco customers and make it a little easier to deal with the production delays.
Late last week, it was revealed that the ongoing semiconductor shortage has prompted Ford to idle production at its Michigan Assembly site where the Bronco is produced during the weeks of May 17 and May 24.
