As Cadillac ventures into an age of electric vehicles, the designs of its models are also set for a radical shift and this concept imagines how a future Caddy might look like.

This concept was penned by GM designer Zhou Fang and shared on social media by the car manufacturer. It doesn’t preview a new model that Cadillac is developing, which given its futuristic shape is understandable, but still makes for an interesting design exercise.

The vehicle has been presented as a low-slung two-door with four seats. As is so typical of concept cars, the Cadillac coupe is rocking a set of absolutely gigantic wheels while the front end is dominated by thin and tall LEDs. The shape of the front is also very pointed while the implementation of an electric powertrain has allowed Fang to stretch the windshield forward and in line with the front axle.

The sides are ultra-sleek and free of door handles, while the small rear-facing cameras that are used instead of traditional wing mirrors are positioned high on the side windows. Another interesting detail are the sharp fins on the roof. Completing the design is a virtually non-existent rear overhang and LED taillights.

Although Cadillac won’t bring this concept into production, it is readying the release of a bold new electric vehicle dubbed the Celestiq. This model will act as a flagship sedan and will join the Lyriq in Cadillac’s EV range.
