The SCG 004S is a very special car and with just 25 units bound for the production line, it is also very rare. In this video we get a behind-the-scenes look at what it is like to drive the 004S on the street while also being provided footage of its crash testing regime and the various detailing options that Larry Kosilla from Ammo NYC will offer to customers of the track-focused supercar.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus drove the car over to Kosilla’s facility and gave him free rein over its exterior before crash testing the car. Kosilla has been tasked with detailing the exterior of each customer car and used this prototype as a testbed to explore various exterior finish options.

All body panels of the 004S are made from pre-preg carbon fiber and customers can choose to have a raw carbon fiber finish, a high-gloss carbon fiber finish or painted carbon, and will be offered gloss and matte clear bras. Much of the video focuses on Kosilla experimenting with the best ways to polish the pre-preg carbon fiber without damaging it. If you’re interested in detailing, it is fascinating to watch and even if you’re more of an automatic car wash type of person, you’ll still be able to appreciate what goes into perfecting a carbon fiber finish.
The SCG 004 will hit the market with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 in track-only C (Competizione) and street-legal S (Stradale) guise, as well as CS (Competizione Stradale, a road-legal version that can become a homologated track car) guise. This engine will be rated at 674 hp in road-legal application and be coupled to a six-speed gated manual transmission. Prices will start at $460,000, although having a polished carbon fiber exterior will no doubt add to that price.
