The facelifted 2021 Genesis G70 has just touched down on Australian shores, launching with a simplified line up and some price hikes.
Whereas the pre-facelift G70 was available Down Under in six different configurations, Genesis has now reduced the lineup to just two distinct variants. Kicking off the range is the 2.0T variant while the flagship model is the 3.3T Sport. The 2.0T can be equipped with an optional Sport Line package while both the 2.0T and 3.3T are also offered with an optional Luxury Package.
Powering the standard G70 2.0T model is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 hp (179 kW) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the rear wheels. Meanwhile, the 3.3T variant has a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged petrol V6 with 367 hp (274 kW) and 376 lb-ft (510 Nm). A key update made for 2021 is the availability of a bi-modal exhaust system, similar to the one offered on the Kia Stinger GT in Australia.

The Luxury Package offered for both models includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 3D function, Forward Attention Warning, Intelligent Front-Lighting System, a power operated trunk, and sound-insulating acoustic laminated front door glass. Genesis has also expanded the palette of colors available to no include no less than 15 matte, mica, and metallic exterior finishes.
Another update made to the 2021 G70 is the inclusion of a Sport+ mode for both the 2.0T and 3.3T models. This mode increases engine responsiveness and throttle sensitivity, while enhancing the gearbox and turning off the traction control. In 3.3T models, the Sport+ mode also tightens up the suspension.
Local pricing for the 2021 Genesis G70 starts at AU$63,000 (US$48,755) before on-road costs for the 2.0T and AU$76,000 (US$58,816) before on-roads for the 3.3T. The Sport Line Package offered for the 2.0T adds AU$4,000 (US$3,095) while the Luxury Package bumps up the price by AU$10,000 (US$7,738). Matte paint is offered for AU$2,000 (US$1,547).
