Fuel economy figures for the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer have been announced and unsurprisingly, the SUV isn’t what you could describe as ‘fuel efficient.’
Figures released by the EPA reveal that the 2022 Grand Wagoneer returns 13 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined with the 6.4-liter V8 and rear-wheel drive, while the all-wheel drive variant returns 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

The Grand Wagoneer’s standard 6.4-liter V8 pumps out 471 hp and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm) of torque and returns very similar figures to the 6.2-liter V8 of the new Cadillac Escalade that’s rated at 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined. The Lincoln Navigator with its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is more fuel efficient and returns 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.
Of course, the people that will buy the Jeep Grand Wagoneer probably aren’t too concerned with fuel efficiency. The figures also aren’t surprising when you consider than the Grand Wagoneer weighs in excess of 5,960 lbs (2,703 kg), depending on the spec. When combined with the aforementioned 6.4-liter V8, the Jeep can move all of this heft to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a respectable 6.0 seconds. It can also tow up to 9,680 lbs (4,472 kg).
Prices for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer start at $88,995, almost $30,000 more than an entry-level Wagoneer, and top out at $109,980 for the Series III with the Premium package.
