Jeep has been teasing a hardcore Wrangler on social media, but the beans have been spilled by Overland Expo.

In a deleted post noticed by Jalopnik, Overland Expo says the 2022 Wrangler will be getting a new Xtreme Recon package.

The package will reportedly include a 1.5 inch (38 mm) lift kit, uniquely tuned shocks, a 4.56:1 axle ratio and 17-inch beadlock capable wheels wrapped in 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires. It’s set to be offered on four-door Wranglers as well as the Wrangler Rubicon 392.

The post went on to say the package will enable the Wrangler to have the industry’s first 100:1 crawl ratio as well as approach and departure angles of 47.7 and 40.4 degrees, respectively. The package is also set to increase the model’s ground clearance to 12.9 inches (328 mm), while also giving it a water fording depth of 33.6 inches (853 mm).

The contents of the Xtreme Recon package are similar to the Bronco’s Sasquatch package as the latter consists of unique fender flares, electronic-locking differentials and a “high clearance” suspension with Bilstein shocks. The package also includes 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 35-inch mud-terrain tires and gives the Bronco a maximum crawl ratio of 94.75:1.

The package is designed to give the Wrangler best-in-class specs and off-roading capability.  Its release also seems timed to steal attention away from the Bronco as the model is finally headed to dealerships and the first reviews will be out shortly.
