If a standard Audi R8 doesn’t quite do it for you, this 2009 example currently up for auction on Cars & Bids might do the trick.

This R8 was comprehensively modified for SEMA 2020 and while the show never happened because of the coronavirus pandemic, the build was completed and in the world of modified R8s, this is definitely one of the most striking.

Immediately making the German supercar stand out is a Prior Design widebody kit that includes flared wheel arches, a unique front bumper, extended side skirts, and a distinctive rear diffuser. The car also rocks a carbon fiber rear wing, HRE Vintage Series 501 forged wheels with a brushed brass finish, and an Audi R8 LMS-inspired patina wrap. The R8 also features an Accuair full air suspension kit and has an aftermarket exhaust and intake.

Beyond all the aftermarket parts, most of the car’s mechanical components have been left untouched. As such, it continues to be powered by a 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that produces 420 hp and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque when it was new, although the addition of a new exhaust and intake has probably increased power to a small degree. Coupled to the engine is a six-speed gated manual transmission driving all four wheels.

The listing notes that the car has a clean Carfax report and currently has 66,100 miles (106,377 km) under its belt. While the looks certainly won’t be to everyone’s taste, we have little doubt that someone will love the striking new styling.
