Video reportedly captured by the Performance Data Recorder in a C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray shows a technician hitting over 100 mph in the car.

The Corvette in question is owned by YouTuber Jaysmizle and was recently serviced by a Chevrolet dealership in California. After getting back the keys to the car, the owner noticed that it had 16 more miles on the odometer than it had when he dropped it off.

He proceeded to look at video of the Performance Data Recorder and discovered that two service technicians, after working on the car, took it for a ride. Of course, it is entirely normal for technicians to take a car on a test drive after performing maintenance work on it but this drive clearly lasted longer than it should have.

At one stage in the video (around 17:45), the Corvette can be seen hitting 104 mph (167 km/h) on a piece of road that was clearly marked with a 65 mph (105 km/h) speed limit.

Towards the end of the video, the owner expresses his frustration at the situation but doesn’t mention if he has brought up the video with anyone that works at the dealership. Nevertheless, we suspect that the dealer and the technicians involved will see this video before too long anyway.
