The Environmental Protection Agency has just published its range estimates for the latest version of Ford’s all-electric Mustang Mach-E and it predicts drivers of the GT model will be able to go up to 270 miles (434 km) on a charge.
The Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, meanwhile, should be good for 260 miles (418 km) of range, the EPA predicts. Either way, that’s better than Ford’s own estimates. When the company unveiled the electric crossover, it said it was aiming for an EPA range of just 250 miles (402 km) for the GT and 235 miles (378 km) for the Performance Edition, so EPA’s results must have been a nice surprise for the company.

Powered by a pair of electric motors that combine for 480 hp (486 PS/360 kW) and 600 lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque, the Mustang Mach-E GT can get to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds. The Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, meanwhile, gets 480 hp (486 PS/360 kW) and 634 lb-ft (859.5 Nm) of torque. That shaves a few tenths off the 0-60 sprint, getting it there in just 3.5 seconds.
Both make use of an 88 kWh battery pack, which gives the lower-power “California Route 1” package Mach-E up to 305 miles (490 km) of range, per the EPA.
Along with the impressive performance, the Mustang Mach-E GT features sports seats in Black Onyx ActiveX materials with Miko inserts, copper metallic stitching, copper metallic piping, and a nine-speaker B&O sound system that comes with a handy subwoofer. Those opting for the Performance Edition get even more bolstering from Ford Performance seats that are finished in gray.
Deliveries for both the Mustang Mach-E GT and the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition begin this fall.
