Ferrari buyers now have a fun new options box to tick when they’re buying one of Maranello’s supercars. Along with all the usual stuff, like carbon fiber, carbon ceramics, and the other technological marvels or whatever, they’ll also be able to order either a 1:8 or 1:12 scale model to match their car.

The models are made by Amalgam Collection, which has been working with Ferrari since 1998, but this is a new level of collaboration between the brands.

“As an extension of this new cooperation, we are now offering 1:12 scale Limited Edition models of the current range of Ferrari sports cars, starting with the 812 Superfast and 812 GTS,” Amalgam writes, adding that the Portofino M is intended to launch later this year.

Ferrari’s other current models, as well as its future ones, are also under development and will be released, but Amalgam doesn’t have a designated timeframe for the likes of the Roma or the SF90 Spider.

The bespoke 1:12 scale models will be exclusively available through Ferrari dealers, but Amalgam will sell you a 1:8 model whether or not you’re shopping at the Ferrari dealership. It will also sell individualized 1:8 scale of many classic Ferraris and every modern Prancing Horse from the F430 forward directly to customers.

Mind you, they don’t come cheap. The 1:12 scale 812 Superfast rings in at $3,200, while a 1:8 bespoke scale model of a 2009 458 Italia sells for $10,045 on Amalgam’s website. Guess everything Ferrari is ridiculously expensive – even scale models.
