Since Dodge launched the Hellcat engine for the 2015 model year, it didn’t just boost sales of the Challenger and Charger, but the 6.2-liter V8 has also become very popular among those performing engine swaps.
Take this 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, for example. It has been fitted with the front fascia of a 1971 model but more importantly, is rocking the 707 HP 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of a 2016 Hellcat model, although the presenter doesn’t mention whether it’s from a Charger or a Challenger. Either way, we know the engine is mated to a 4L80 four-speed transmission driving the wheels through a Ford 9-inch rear end.

Elsewhere, the car has also been fitted with a set of Wilwood brakes and sits on black aftermarket wheels with 305 mm tires at the rear. A number of other visual changes have been made, including the fitment of matte black accents on the rear quarter panels.
The interior is a mix of new and old. For example, the car features a Hellcat steering wheel and SRT seats but has the classic dash layout of the ‘Cuda as well as a set of custom gauges. It also has a traditional shifter rather than the one found in a new Hellcat model.
The YouTuber then takes the car out on the street and is left seriously impressed. For most of the review, he doesn’t give the car full throttle but when he does, he spins up the rear tires with ease, kicking out the rear of the muscle car and leaving thick black lines on the road.
