Jeep is now offering a Corning Gorilla Glass windshield as an option on the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator.
If you own a smartphone, chances are it features Gorilla Glass that makes it much more resistant to scratching and cracking than traditional glass. For vehicles like the Wrangler and Gladiator that are popular among off-roading enthusiasts where stone chips can be common, the availability of Gorilla Glass is very good news.

Mopar Insiders reports that the car manufacturer recently told its dealer body that orders for Gorilla Glass windshields are now open. Not only are they stronger than the standard windshields of the Wrangler and Gladiator but they are also thinner and lighter.
Jeep will offer the windshield on Wrangler Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon 392, Sahara 4xe, and Rubicon 4xe models, as well as the Gladiator Willys, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave. Customers will only need to spend an extra $95 for the Gorilla Glass windshield.
This isn’t the first time Gorilla Glass has been used in an automotive application. The first production car to use it in its windshield is the current-generation Ford GT. It is also offered as an option on cars like the McLaren Senna and 720S and back in March, the Jeep Wrangler Orange Peelz concept introduced by the automaker at the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari also featured such a windshield.
Mopar Insiders says that Jeep believes approximately 80 per cent of new orders placed for the Wrangler and Gladiator will include Gorilla Glass.
