Lamborghini is experiencing a resurgence in growth and high demand for its models after the pandemic-riddled 2020.
While speaking with the media at the Milano Monza Motor Show where Lamborghini had a couple of cars on display, chief executive Stephan Winkelmann said that the brand has already sold roughly 10 months of its production capacity, noting that deliveries surged by almost 25 per cent in the first quarter of this year.
“Despite a two-month shutdown due to the pandemic, Lamborghini ended 2020 as its second-best year ever,” Winkelmann added.
During the open-air motor show in Milan, Winkelmann also spoke about the company’s electrification plans.
“Lamborghini doesn’t want to be the first-mover at all cost,” he said. “In electrification, we need to choose the right moment, when we think the market is ready and we think we can really be the best.”

Lamborghini is committed to spending 1.5 billion euros ($1.8 billion) to offer plug-in hybrid versions of each of its models by 2024. It also intends on selling its first all-electric vehicle during the second half of the decade and Winkelmann wants this model to be a two-door.
In the near future, Lamborghini will launch its first hybrid series production car in 2023. Details about this model are limited, including whether it will be an Aventador replacement or a plug-in version of the Urus. Lamborghini will also release a successor to the Huracan in the coming few years.
