Mercedes-Benz and Electrify America announced today that the first buyers of the EQS electric sedan will receive two years of complimentary charging at the charging infrastructure company’s stations.
Specifically, the first 30 minutes of charging will be free, but the EQS can charge from 0 to 80% in just 20 minutes, so that should be ample time to get you on your way. The service will mean that owners have access to free charging at Electrify America’s 600 ultra-fast charging stations across America.
“The EQS marks a new era for our brand, and this collaboration with Electrify America will ensure a seamless ownership experience for our customers with convenient access to an extensive coast-to-coast charging network while supporting a solid foundation for additional all-electric models to come,” said Dimitris Psillakis, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA.

First owners and lessees will have to set up their Mercedes me Charge account, which can be operated through the EQS’s vast infotainment system. Better yet, Electrify America and Daimler have partnered to provide drivers with ISO15118 plug compatibility. That means the plug will recognize the car and automatically interact with your charging account. With that, charging should be simple and require you only to plug your car in and walk away.
“With a laser-focused commitment to advancing the adoption of electric vehicles, Electrify America has opened more than 2,600 individual chargers from coast-to-coast in less than three years, and we are excited to welcome Mercedes-EQ and Mercedes-Benz customers to our network with this offer,” said Giovanni Palazzo, president and chief executive officer of Electrify America.
The first EQS models have already gone into production in Germany and feature a single motor sending 329 hp to the rear wheels, or a pair of motors sending 516 hp to all four wheels. Going on sale this fall, U.S. pricing has not been announced yet.
