Mercedes-Benz has announced that its infotainment system, MBUX, will offer full Apple Music integration.
The service will offer online music directly through the infotainment system in the new C-Class, S-Class, and the upcoming, all-electric EQS. That will give occupants access to Apple Music’s collection of more than 75 million songs, as well as thousands of curated playlists, and Apple’s live streaming radio stations.
“We use the possibilities of digitization through over-the-air updates to make the time our customers spend in their Mercedes as entertaining and fulfilling as possible,” says Sajjad Khan, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz AG and CTO. “The seamless integration of online music streaming offers customers digital access to their own personal music enjoyment. With Apple Music, we have now fully integrated another service that fits perfectly into the Mercedes-Benz online music portfolio.”

Owners will be able to use the MBUX voice assistant to ask for a radio station or song while the 4D Burmester sound system offered in these vehicles may turn your Mercedes into as much of a listening room as a car.
New models will be shipped with the option to download the app, while older models with the MBUX system will be able to get it with an over-the-air update. Listeners can simply link to their pre-existing accounts through the car.
Apple Music is just the latest music app to join the MBUX infotainment architecture. The system is already capable of playing music from Spotify, Amazon Music, and TIDAL. QQ Music is also available for owners in China, while Apple Music and Genie Music are available to South Korean owners.
