Pininfarina has been tapped to design a handful of new trucks to be produced by Gaussin.
Guassin builds a plethora of vehicles and products in the transport and logistics fields and currently has a fleet of more than 50,000 vehicles worldwide. With Pininfarina, it is readying for new trucks that are all underpinned by an innovative modular skateboard platform that can support electric and hydrogen powertrains.
Among the vehicles being readied are a Class 8 truck that will have a range of up to 1,200 km (745 miles), smaller trucks for use in built-up cities, rigid trucks for the construction industry (including cement trucks and tippers), rigid trucks for waste management, and a ‘racing’ truck.

“The cab has to be aligned with the new mobility needs,” Gaussin chief executive Christophe Gaussin said in a statement. “It must be the link between the driver and his mission, between the truck and its environment. It has to be clean, safe, friendly but also intelligent to perform at a high level of efficiency… and it has to have a signature that lasts over time. Pininfarina has not only designed a modern and great looking cab but has created a transgenerational story. At Gaussin, we are of course working for the performance of our customers but also the planet for the next generations. This is exactly why we have chosen to collaborate with Pininfarina.”
A teaser image released by Pininfarina shows that the trucks will all have similar headlight and LED daytime running light arrays, as well as illuminated badges and Gaussin branding.
