Puma’s Latest Sneakers Take Inspiration From The Ferrari SF90 Stradale

Puma has partnered with Ferrari to create a sneaker inspired by the SF90 Stradale hybrid supercar.

The sneaker, dubbed the ION F, features a reflective TPU panel in the rear wrapped by a PU foam that takes inspiration from the front spoiler of the SF90 Stradale. Elsewhere, Puma says the magnetic-fit lock buckers are a nod to the g-force created when the SF90 is driven at high speed around corners.

There are some more obvious nods to the famed Italian car manufacturer as well, most notably the red and white colorway, the Prancing Horse logos, and Ferrari badging.

Puma is selling the Ferrari ION F sneakers in select stores and on the company’s website. It is also available in select Ferrari stores and the Ferrari website priced at £400 (~$560).

The shoe forms part of Ferrari’s latest fashion collection with Puma that is “inspired by the connection of the curves of Ferrari cars and the human anatomy highlighting the link between clothing, car and body design choices that translate into a robotic outlook.” According Puma, “it originates “in the iconic design of well-known Ferrari cars, that have been studied, dissected, morphed and ultimately turned into wearable items.”

This is far from the first time that Puma has collaborated with a car manufacturer to develop unique footwear. In late 2020, for instance, it partnered with Porsche to create eight sets of shoes inspired by the eight generations of the iconic 911 Turbo.
