With deliveries set to begin next month, Rivian is giving us a detailed look at the interior of the highly anticipated R1T.
Shown with the available Adventure Package, the electric pickup sports an upscale interior with vegan leather seats, ash wood trim and a 100% recycled microfiber headliner. The model also has quick-drying Chilewich floor mats, which can be removed and hosed off.
The front seats feature eight-way power adjustment, four-way power lumbar support as well as heating and ventilation. The rear seats are also heated and drivers will find a heated, flat-bottomed steering wheel with power adjustment.

Elsewhere, there are four retractable cup holders, a 16-inch infotainment system, and an 18 speaker Meridian audio system that was “specifically developed around the shape and materials in the R1T cabin.” While the truck lacks an engine, it has been equipped with noise reduction and echo cancellation technology. This promises to improve phone call quality, while traveling in noisy environments or when driving with the windows down.
When you get to your destination, you can bring your tunes along thanks to a removable Camp Speaker that connects to your smartphone and will “automatically pick up where you left off once you press play.” The speaker is weatherproof, features a built-in lantern, and automatically charges in the center console when not in use.
Rivian even paid special attention to the HVAC system as it uses air vectoring technology and eight electric motors. This enables “occupants to choose precisely where they want to aim the warm or cool air by moving an airflow icon on the touchscreen.” Furthermore, rear seat passengers have their own climate controls which can be accessed by a 6.5 inch display on the back of the center console.
Other highlights include a 4G WiFi hotspot, six USB Type-C charging ports and a 110V outlet. The truck also boasts a wireless charger on the center console, which can handle two smartphones. Buyers will also find a panoramic glass roof that blocks more than 99.9% of UV light, which is the sunscreen equivalent of 96,173 SPF.
Rivian says they spent years “observing how drivers use the spaces inside their vehicles,” and this led them to creating compartments that are both practical and plentiful. Among them is a large storage compartment beneath the infotainment system, pullouts under the driver and front passenger seats, and a 33 inch (838 mm) wide storage bin under the rear seats. The latter can be accessed by lifting a pull tab at the base of the seat cushion, and it opens to reveal a rubber-lined compartment with removable dividers.
Other cool touches include a rechargeable flashlight that resides in the driver side door and an optional 130-piece Rivian Field Kit. The latter includes “emergency essentials” such as a poncho, a blanket and a fold-up shovel.
