TechArt unveiled the new generation of the GTstreet R sportscar which is based on the 992 series 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S. Besides dialing up the power, the German tuner has given the 992 a custom bodykit making it look like a…spaceship from certain angles
Compared to its predecessor, the new GTstreet R is not only faster and more powerful but also a lot more aggressive-looking. On the road, no one will mistake this for a normal 911, with all that exposed carbon fiber. That was made clear even by the camouflaged prototype spotted a few weeks ago during testing.
According to TechArt, the added parts are not only for show. Tested on the wind tunnel, they significantly reduce the lift at the front axle (up to 45 percent at 140 km/h / 87 mph) while increasing downforce at the rear axle and optimizing airflow to the intercooler.

At the front, there is a new cover for the air intakes, a more pronounced splitter, additional flaps on the sides, and a redesigned bonnet with inlets similar to those on the new 911 GT3. The car also gets fender and side sill extensions, as well as GT3 RS-like gills on the front fenders.
The signature element is definitely the big carbon fiber rear wing. Below, a large portion of the redesigned rear bumper is painted in black, matching the carbon fiber diffuser. The stainless-steel sport exhaust system has two large tailpipes and valve control so you don’t wake up the neighbors.
An integral part of the visual upgrade is TechArt’s 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Formula VI Race forged wheels with carbon fiber aero discs. According to the customer’s preference they can be fitted with either Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 or Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 265/35 ZR20 at the front and 325/30 ZR21 at the back.
The new GTstreet R is the fastest 992-based model from TechArt yet, with a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six produces up to 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS) and 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of torque thanks to new turbochargers and upgraded software. This makes it 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 111 lb-ft (150 Nm) more powerful than the stock Porsche 911 Turbo S.
For those who don’t need that much power, TechArt also offers a more sensible kit that includes only the software updates, increasing output to 700 hp (522 kW / 710 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.
The suspension can be lowered by up to 25 mm, either with a sport spring set or an adjustable coilover kit. In the near future, the company will also offer the optional Clubsport Package designed for track days with further upgrades including performance seats, a fully adjustable coil-over suspension, and a roll cage.
Inside there’s a healthy amount of Alcantara, leather, and carbon fiber with touches of color matching the exterior, retro-styled patterns, and GTstreet R logos. Each TechArt GTstreet R can be customized through the official configurator to match the personal taste of the owner.
TechArt will build 87 units of the GTstreet R. The cost for the upgrade starts from €73,000 (equal to $86,843 at current exchange rates) before tax, plus the Porsche 911 Turbo or Turbo S donor car.
In 2019, the tuner launched a 991.2-based GTstreet RS. Judging by the new GTstreetR’s performance, if they do indeed make a new RS, it should make for an even more impressive piece of kit.
