High-powered, gas-guzzling super sedans like the BMW M5 CS won’t be around for much longer so it’s important we enjoy them while we can. And one of the best ways to get your kicks with an M5 CS is testing it on the Autobahn.
That’s exactly what AutoTopNL recently did and as you would imagine, the car is right at home driving at high speeds along an unrestricted section of highway.

During one of its acceleration runs, the YouTube channel was able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.98 seconds, sprint from 62 mph to 124 mph (100 – 200 km/h) in 6.69 seconds, run from naught to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 9.67 seconds, and storm down the quarter-mile in 10.64 seconds. It also completed the half-mile in 16.87 seconds and ran down the mile in 27.36 seconds on its way to a GPS-verified top speed of 191 mph (309 km/h).
The M5 CS is the most powerful production car ever launched by BMW and features a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 with 627 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Coupled to this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends grunt through all four wheels. BMW’s official claim is that the car needs just 2.9 seconds to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) so to actually hit 62 mph in less than 3 seconds like AutoTopNL did is very impressive. BMW also quotes a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h).
