The insane Bugatti Bolide was shown to the public for the first time at the recent Milano Monza Motor Show and attendees didn’t just have the opportunity to see it in the flesh but were also able to watch and hear it on the move.
While the Bolide looks more like a wild conceptual rendering, it is actually fully functional and was track-tested during its development. Bugatti hasn’t said if it plans on building the Bolide for customers but many believe it will be built in limited numbers.
This video shows the car being moved around the open-air motor show and loaded onto a truck. While that may not sound very exciting, we do get to hear the car at start-up and at idle. Like the Chiron, the Bolide is powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine but it has been comprehensively modified and delivers a claimed 1,824 hp and 1,364 lb-ft (1,850 Nm) of torque.

The modified 16-cylinder engine is way louder than any other Bugatti model, so much so that many attendees at the show were visibly frightened when it fired into life for the first time.
Bugatti claims that thanks to the car’s immense power, as well as the fact that it weighs just 1,240 kg (2,733 lbs), means the Bolide can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.17 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 4.36 seconds, 186 mph (300 km/h) in 7.37 seconds, 248 mph (400 km/h) in 12.08 seconds, and reach 310 mph (500 km/h) in just 20.16 seconds. Bugatti’s simulations also indicate it could lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 5:23.1.
