For the past 35 years, Lancia has been producing the Ypsilon supermini and even though the fourth-generation model is now a decade old, it continues to sell well in its home market. Now, the automaker has announced an extension of the Ypsilon range with the launch of its first electric scooter that, along with the Ypsilon Hybrid Ecochic, offers “a complete, sustainable solution for urban mobility”.
Simply known as the Ypsilon e-scooter, it is made in partnership with MT Distribution and will be available from Lancia dealerships across Italy and other retail channels.
The Ypsilon e-scooter sports a 250-watt brushless motor and has a range of 18 km (11 miles). It has an aluminum frame so it isn’t too heavy and includes front suspension and 8-inch honeycomb wheels that Lancia says help to cushion bumps in the road. The Ypsilon e-scotter also features LED lights at both the front and rear.

Those in the market for the e-scooter will be able to pick one up in two colors, Maryne and Gold, for €299 ($355).
While some had expected the demise of Lancia following the merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group, Stellantis recently appointed Jean-Pierre Ploué as the new design director for Lancia. It is understood that Lancia will develop various new models alongside Alfa Romeo and DS Automobiles as it looks to grow beyond the Ypsilon which is its sole model at the moment.
To help keep the Ypsilon looking somewhat fresh, Lancia rolled out a minor facelift for it at the start of the year, tweaking the front fascia and updating the interior with a new 7-inch infotainment system.
