The Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 is a great car in its own right, but it also makes for a great platform for those looking to extract more performance out of it. A prime example of the latter is this BRZ, which has the engine from an Mk4 Toyota Supra and the manual transmission from a Nissan 370Z.

The 2014 BRZ is listed on Cars & Bids, and it has a surprisingly low 23,400 miles. However, the impressiveness of that low mileage pales in comparison to what this car hides behind its relatively restrained appearance.

Speaking of its appearance, the only things that would begin to give away this car’s performance would be the new wheels and tires, aftermarket spoiler, slight lowering, and vents in the hood, although they’re incredibly subtle. To the untrained eye, this could easily pass for stock or lightly-modified BRZ, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Under this car’s hood lies the famed 2JZ-GTE twin-turbo 3.0L inline-six from the Mk4 Toyota Supra. Stock, this engine makes 276 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, which is already considerably more than both this first-gen BRZ’s and the second-gen BRZ’s power outputs. However, this 2JZ isn’t stock. Thanks to a large single turbocharger and a host of supporting engine and drivetrain modifications (the seller lists around 70 in the build documentation), this car now makes a staggering 737 hp and 558 lb-ft of torque to the wheels.

And on top of that, two of those drivetrain modifications include the 6-speed manual transmission from a Nissan 370Z and the rear differential from a Lexus IS300, making this BRZ a true Frankenstein car. Currently, the top bid is at $28,250, which isn’t too bad considering some stock 2014 BRZs with similar mileage are selling for around the same price.
