Toyota has made some updates to the Land Cruiser Prado in Japan and launched a new 70th Anniversary edition.
While details about the Land Cruiser Prado 70th Anniversary model are thin on the ground, it is understood that it will be offered in five different finishes, including a unique shade of dark green.
Various updates have been made to the off-roader. For example, it sits on unique 18-inch black wheels and sports a handful of chrome details, mirrors, and roof rails. The tailgate also features a 70th Anniversary badge.

A look inside the cabin of the Land Cruiser Prado 70th Anniversary reveals that brown leather adorns the front and rear seats as well as parts of the door panels and transmission tunnel. Toyota has also fitted new floor mats with 70th Anniversary embroidery.
Japanese buyers can purchase the model with either a 2.7-liter petrol engine producing 160 hp or a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel that is good for 201 hp. Both engines come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels.
The release of this special edition comes as Toyota is readying the long-awaited J300 Land Cruiser which will replace the J200 that has been in production for more than a decade. While the exterior design of the new model isn’t a dramatic departure from the outgoing model, the new Land Cruiser is expected to undergo a plethora of modifications that ensure it is vastly superior to its predecessor.
