Toyota UK has launched a game-changing 10-year warranty that applies to both new and used vehicles.
Dubbed Toyota Relax, the warranty program adds 12 months / 10,000 miles of warranty every time someone has their vehicle serviced at an official Toyota center. This warranty is applied automatically and at no extra cost to the customer.
What this means is that if you own a new Toyota vehicle in the UK and have it routinely serviced at a Toyota facility, it will be under warranty for 10 years or until it has covered 100,000 miles (160,000 km). What’s perhaps even more intriguing is the fact that this warranty program also applies to used Toyotas.

If you purchase a used Toyota privately or through a dealership and regardless of whether you are the second, third, or even fourth owner, if that model is less than 10 years old and you take it to a Toyota service center, you’ll receive a 12 months / 10,000-mile warranty until it is 10 years old. It doesn’t matter if the used model has never been previously serviced at a Toyota facility.
Toyota Relax is offered for all Toyota passenger cars, pickup trucks, and light commercial vehicles, regardless of whether they have petrol or diesel engines, hybrid powertrains, or are EVs. The hydrogen-powered Mirai is also covered.
“This is a game-changing proposition that redefines the manufacturer warranty, giving our customers the reassurance and value of cover for up to a decade of motoring,” Toyota UK customer services director Rob Giles said. “There are compelling business benefits to be gained as well, with Relax connecting us with more owners, building loyalty and giving our network partners the opportunity to maximize value chain opportunities in both sales and after sales activities.”
The Toyota Relax warranty covers all of the same parts and labor as the standard three-year manufacturer’s warranty of a new Toyota vehicle and the one-year manufacturer warranty that’s standard with approved used models.
