The Aston Martin Valkyrie is one of the most eagerly-awaited hypercars ever launched and an uncamouflaged prototype was recently spied testing on some public streets in Spain.

This Valkyrie is finished in a lovely shade of British Racing Green and was being driven by one of Aston Martin’s test drivers, possibly Chris Goodwin himself. It was filmed both on highways and smaller roads and the first thing that catches your attention is the intoxicating soundtrack.

As we already know, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine that’s been developed by Cosworth, making 1,000 hp. This engine is coupled to a hybrid system from Rimac that boosts power to a combined 1,160 hp and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.

What’s particularly incredible about this engine is the fact that it revs to 10,500 rpm and even though the revs were kept quite low in this video, it still sounds incredible. In fact, the test driver can be seen wearing headphones/earmuffs at one stage.

Then there’s the exterior design of the Valkyrie. It goes without saying that the car looks unlike any other supercar or hypercar to come before it and places a huge emphasis on underfloor aerodynamics. As such, you can actually see under the entire floor of the car when driving behind it. In addition, the venturi tunnels and massive rear diffuser appear to suck up and spit out a lot of road debris.

Aston Martin is only building 150 examples of the Valkyrie and as of February, company boss Tobias Moers said customer deliveries would start in the middle of the year.
