Until the 2007 model year, the Jeep Wrangler was only offered in a 2-door layout. However, that doesn’t mean people weren’t thinking about 4-door Wranglers before that. This 2006 Wrangler is living proof of that, as not only was it converted to have 4 doors, but also 3 rows of seating.

Listed for sale on Cars & Bids, the 4×4 Wrangler has just 42,034 miles on its odometer, and its last service was performed in the summer of 2020. It has had two owners since new, although according to the seller, those were just different branches of his company and he is the original owner.

Of course, the most interesting thing about this Jeep is its 4-door limousine conversion and accompanying modifications. The work was done by Missouri-based company Illusion Coach Builds back in March of 2006, likely right after it was purchased. It rides on a stretched wheelbase that is 4.5 feet longer than stock, and gains a set of half doors in addition to the full ones up front. And since the normal 2-door jeep already had 4 seats, this conversion brought with it another 2, bringing the total up to 6 seats and 3 rows. On top of all that, a custom soft top was created to stretch the entire length of this limo-like Jeep.

The interior is fairly standard, obviously with the exception of an added row of seats. On the topic of those new seats, it’s actually the second row that was added, as the third row seats remained where they were from when the car was still a 2-door. As far as equipment goes, it’s again fairly basic, with air conditioning, but just the standard manual windows and locks. Its only aftermarket item is the Kenwood CD player.

However, things just get better with this Wrangler, as it has the favored 4.0-liter straight-six engine under its hood. Although it might be working overtime to carry all this extra weight around, as it’s only rated at 190 hp (193 PS / 142 kW) and 235 lb-ft (318 Nm) of torque. Nevertheless, it soldiers on anyway, sending that power through a choice of two or four wheels via its 4-speed automatic transmission, and featuring a Magnaflow exhaust system as its sole modification.

All in all, the modifications on this Jeep seem to be very professionally executed. The car’s condition is a bit rough around the edges, but should you decide to purchase it, you’ll no doubt be the talk of the town wherever you go.
