Correction June 30: A previous version of this article got the second vehicle in this accident wrong, incorrectly calling it a BMW instead of a Jaguar. The writer has been promptly flogged and forced to watch yesterday’s UEFA match on repeat until he can tell the difference between Germans and Brits.
Getting into an accident, any accident, is stressful enough. But getting into an accident with a Bugatti Chiron must be really painful.
That’s what has happened in England where video footage of a Chiron that appears to have been rear-ended by a Jaguar has emerged online. Details are scant, but the Chiron in the video has the same license plate as YouTuber Lord Aleem‘s car.
The YouTuber, nee Aleem Iqbal, runs a luxury car rental business in the UK called Platinum Executive Travel with his father. DriveTribe reports that this car can (or could) be rented from PET for around £30,000 ($41,500 USD) a day for music videos and the like. It is therefore unclear who was driving the Chiron at the time.

From the video, shared on both YouTube and Instagram, the accident appears to have been substantial enough to crack the Chiron‘s rear bumper and to damage the Jaguar’s grille pretty badly, though the drivers likely made it out alright.
The Jaguar’s driver will likely be facing some more consternation soon when they call their insurance agency. I don’t imagine the call into PET would be very comfortable for the person who rented this car out, either.
The 1,497 hp Chiron is powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine that gets it through the quarter-mile almost as quickly as an F1 car. For all that performance, you can expect to pay at least $2.9 million – and, this being a Bugatti, you can bet that its parts are exorbitantly expensive as well.
