A classic Dodge Charger isn’t the type of vehicle you’d usually see sliding and drifting around but at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, there was one example that really got attendees excited during the Driftkhana event.

This 1968 Charger has been on the European drifting scene for a number of years now and is owned and driven by Alexandre Claudin. As you would imagine, a plethora of modifications have been done to it to make it suitable for drift events.

For example, the original bodywork has been reinforced and the car has the rear end and axles from a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The Charger has gone through a number of iterations and at one stage, was powered by the S62B50 V8 from a BMW E39 M5. However, a couple of years ago, it was fitted with an LS6 V8 engine that powers it ’till now.

During Claudin’s run at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, he perfectly demonstrated his skill behind the wheel, sliding the car up the circuit, despite its massive size and performing some impressive drifts, much to the delight of the spectators.

This year’s Driftkhana event at the Goodwood Festival of Speed features a plethora of very impressive cars, among which an BMW E92 M3 driven by James Deane, a Nissan Silvia S15 with a striking red and black livery, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400.
