The Ram 1500 lineup is expanding for 2022 as the company has introduced the new Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T.

Described as customized performance trucks straight from the factory, the models feature a number of upgrades including items from the Ram 1500 TRX.

Available exclusively in a crew cab configuration, the trucks are distinguished by a ventilated hood and G/T decals.

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the G/T variants trade a rotary shifter for a console-mounted “performance shifter.” Drivers will also find steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and metal pedals. Rounding out the highlights are front bucket seats with G/T badging and all-weather floor mats.

Last but not least, the infotainment system comes with Performance Pages that provide real-time vehicle performance information and a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) timer. The information can also be downloaded onto a USB stick for later viewing.

Both models are powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with mild-hybrid technology. While that’s not too unusual, the G/Ts are equipped with a factory-installed cold-air intake and a cold-end exhaust. Ram didn’t mention any specific gains, but the Mopar part listing for the cold-air intake says it “increase[s] airflow, power and torque.” This suggests the trucks should have more than 395 hp (291 kW / 400 PS) and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque.

The trucks will go on sale in the third quarter and pricing starts at $55,375 for the Rebel G/T, while the Laramie G/T begins at $55,480 – both excluding a $1,695 destination fee.
