The current-generation Ford Ranger won’t be around for much longer but even so, Ford has launched a new variant in Thailand.
Dubbed the Ford Ranger XL Street Special Edition, the model will be capped at just 300 examples and immediately stands out from other Ranger models thanks to a distinctive bodykit. This kit includes revised front and rear bumpers, 16-inch wheels, black wing mirrors caps and door handles, and a unique graphics package with white and red stripes.

The graphics package isn’t dissimilar to the one on the Ranger Tremor available in the U.S. and is directly inspired by the decals used on the Ranger race car that competes in Thailand’s Super Pickup racing series. The XL Street Special Edition also includes a unique grille similar to the Ranger Raptor’s.
As the model is based on the XL Street, it includes the same lowered suspension system when compared to other Ranger models. It is also powered by a 2.2-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine producing 160 hp and 283 lb-ft (385 Nm) of torque. Drive is sent through the rear wheels courtesy of a six-speed manual transmission.
Found in the cabin is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Ford has no plans to sell the Ranger XL Street Special Edition in other markets, such as Australia.
