General Motors has a very broad array of vehicles in its line-up. One car it doesn’t have in its range is a two-seater sports car with open-wheels and no windshield. That’s exactly what these renderings depict.
These renderings were recently shared by General Motors Design to Instagram and showcase a sporty car designed by the creative senior designer for GM’s performance cars, Helio Queiroz. It’s not heading to the production line but it would be very cool if it did become a reality, even just as a concept.

The car appears to have been designed around a complex tubular chassis with an open-wheel design. Queiroz seemingly took some inspiration from the lightweight, track-day cars that come out of Europe in designing the car, opting against using a traditional windshield in favor of a smaller wind deflector and prominent buttresses behind the headrests.
General Motors certainly has the resources to build a sports car like this but the truth is that the margins on such a car would be very small and not many would be sold.
