Hyundai has officially killed off all variants of the Veloster other than the flagship N in the United States.
In April, a report surfaced online suggesting that that the South Korean automaker would drop some variants of the Veloster due to poor sales. However, Hyundai soon revealed that non-N branded versions of the Veloster would stick around through the 2022 model year. Fast forward to July and it has changed its mind, confirming that the range will be cut.

In a statement issued to Car and Driver, a Hyundai spokesperson confirmed that the Veloster 2.0, 2.0 Premium, R-Spec, Turbo, and Ultimate models have all been ditched for the 2022 model year.
This isn’t much of a surprise as Hyundai only sold 6,785 examples of the Veloster across the U.S. during 2020.
The 2021 Veloster range had started at $18,900 for the entry-level model with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 147 hp and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque. Pricing then rose to $23,100 for the 2.0 Premium with heated front seats, a larger 8-inch infotainment system and an eight-speaker Infinity premium audio system. The Veloster was also available in Turbo R-Spec form with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 201 hp and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) and starting at $23,450.
Of course, the Veloster N has always been the most impressive version on offer, complete with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 275 hp and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque and coupled to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
