Hyundai’s N division is readying a Nurburgring-related announcement on July 14 and it could have something to do with the Elantra N.
A video recently shared to social media by the South Korean automaker shows a pen drawing the Nurburgring circuit on a piece of paper. In the final few seconds of this teaser, the Hyundai N logo flashes up on screen and within it we are provided quick glimpses of both the Elantra N and the Kona N.

Now, the Kona N has already been revealed so its presence in the teaser is a bit of a mystery. However, the Elantra N hasn’t and was recently teased with a handful of photos. It’s therefore reasonable to assume that the July 14 date noted in the teaser relates to the unveiling of the Elantra N.
It is also possible that Hyundai could announce Nurburgring lap times for both the Elantra N and Kona N on this date. That would be interesting as no other Hyundai N models have set official lap times at the ‘Ring in the past. In fact, Hyundai N boss Albert Biermann said he didn’t care about Nurburgring lap times during interviews when the i30 N was first launched.
Powering the Elantra N will be Hyundai’s familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 275 hp coupled to a either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Drive will be sent through the front wheels via a limited-slip differential.
