Hyundai has started to tease its 2022 Custo minivan and while vehicles of this kind are best known for their bland and uninspiring designs, the Custo is quite different.
These teaser images reveal that the Custo will have a front fascia with a grille and headlights similar to the Tucson and Santa Cruz. As such, some elements of the front grille actually double as LED daytime running lights, giving the minivan a very striking look.

The bold design continues along the sides of the minivan with sharp lines and angles. It is a similar story at the rear end where there are eye-catching LED taillights connected with a light bar. As minivans go, none are quite as bold or expressive as this.
Unfortunately for Hyundai, this teaser campaign for the Custo is rather pointless as photos of the minivan free of any camouflage actually circulated online in August 2020, almost a full year ago. These images showed a white prototype positioned in a parking lot and provided us with our first chance to see the minivan out in the open.
The Custo will be built through the Beijing Hyundai joint venture in China between the South Korean car manufacturer and BAIC Motor. It is 4,950 mm (194.9 inches) long, 1,850 mm (72.9 inches) wide, and 1,734 mm (68.2 inches) tall.
It is reported that the Custo will be available with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine pumping out 170 hp and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 236 hp.
