In just a few short years, Jaguar will be producing nothing but electric vehicles so it’s important we remember some of the finest ICE-powered vehicles it has built throughout the decades. The XFR-S is one of them.
Introduced in late 2012, the Jaguar XFR-S was the fastest and most powerful sedan that Jaguar had ever produced at the time. Power comes from the carmaker’s familiar 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine producing a cool 542 hp and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque. Mated to this engine is an 8-speed transmission driving the rear wheels, allowing the XFR-S to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and continue through to an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).

AutoTopNL recently found itself behind the wheel of an XFR-S on the Autobahn and proceeded to see just how fast it is. With an open piece of road, the super sedan managed to hit a top speed of 311 km/h (193 mph) as indicated on the speedometer or 302 km/h (187.6 mph) as measured by a GPS. For a luxurious family sedan that is almost a decade old, that is a seriously impressive figure.
The Jaguar XFR-S isn’t just a beast to drive but it is also a beast to look at as the British automaker made a handful of visual changes to differentiate it from standard XF models. For example, the front and rear fascias were revised and the grille was blacked out. It also featured unique rocker panels and as standard, sits on 20-inch forged wheels.
