Powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, the 992-generation Porsche 911 Carrera doesn’t have quite the same aural allure as older, naturally aspirated models. Kline Innovation aims to rectify this.
While you may not have heard of Klein Innovation before, they have a wealth of experience developing exhaust systems for different performance cars. With the 992 Carrera, they have created a unique exhaust system that uses Inconel, the same exotic material used in the exhaust systems of Formula 1 cars.
The exhaust includes an X-pipe design and can be optioned with HJS catalytic converters or without cats at all. There is also a valvetronic system that shuts the valves when you don’t want to make too much noise. Of course, the exhaust also gives the 911 Carrera an even more intoxicating soundtrack.

Apart from making the car sound better, Klein’s system adds 39 hp and 41 lb-ft (55 Nm) of torque and should customers opt for an ECU remap, they can expect an extra 79 hp.
Of course, while a 911 Carrera with an Inconel exhaust sounds good, it cannot match the intoxicating soundtrack delivered by the 992-generation 911 GT3, complete with its high-revving 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder – but it’ll still sound better than stock.
While there are still some great-sounding sports cars and supercars on the market, the sad truth is that sound and emissions regulations, particularly those across Europe, are killing off some of the automotive soundtracks that we love, before the (inevitable) domination of EVs consigns them to history. With that in mind, it’s important we savor these final years of the internal combustion engine.
