Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is the first new addition to the Test Drive series in ten years and we just found out where it will take place: Hong Kong.

Specifically, it will take place on the ritzy Hong Kong Island, where players will be immersed in a world of rival factions. You’ll be able to pick between two “clans,” either the Streets or the Sharps, and through various missions, you’ll be able to build your reputation within that clan.

The game, now produced by a studio called Nacon, will feature a full-scale 1:1 map of Hong Kong Island with the addition of a made-up Solar Crown Hotel, that will be the focal point of the game.

Unfortunately, no gameplay has actually been seen yet, but what we have seen would suggest that players can expect a more arcadey experience than a simulation one. That will put Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown more in competition with the likes of Forza Horizon than Forza Motorsport.

A car list is also unknown at this point, but given the glitzy nature of the trailer, we would expect luxury cars to be well-represented here. The video already shows an Aston Martin DB11, a Range Rover, a Porsche Cayenne, a Mercedes AMG G63, a BMW i8, and a Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown isn’t expected to go on sale for a little bit, unfortunately, with a release of September 2022. Before then, though, we would expect to get a gameplay trailer to help figure out exactly what playing this game will be like.
