Peugeot announced it will keep offering the 108 city car in the United Kingdom with a series of minor updates for 2021, exclusively available in five-door bodystyle, as it moves closer towards the end of its lifecycle.

The 108 premiered in 2014 as an updated version of the 2005 Peugeot 107 and a sister model to the Citroën C1 and the Toyota Aygo. In 2020 it was reported that PSA Group would stop production of their ICE-powered A-segment vehicles, with a rumored fully electric successor in the form of a crossover based on the 2021 Fiat 500 platform. On the other hand, Toyota followed a different road with their ICE-powered next-generation Aygo previewed by the X Prologue Concept.

Back to the good-old 108, the model lives on with two new paint colors, Ural White and Galaxite Gray, replacing the older Bianca White and Carbon Grey. The city car is available in three trim levels, Active, Allure and Collection, with the latter being distinguished by 15-inch Thorren alloy wheels with orange center caps and the body-colored door handles. Inside, there are new Orange Maya Line Jusa trims with Yello Sun stitching in the top-of-the-range Collection, and different interior ambiance combinations depending on the trim level.

Regardless of the variant, under the bonnet there is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 67 hp (50 kW / 68 PS) as the slightly more powerful naturally aspirated 1.2-liter unit has been discontinued. Power is sent to the front wheels exclusively through a five-speed manual gearbox, with no automatic option.

The 2022 Peugeot 108 is already available in the UK with prices starting from £13,320.
