A few months ago, we reported on a salvage Lamborghini Huracan being turned into a purpose-built off-roader by Chris Steinbacher of YouTube channel B is for Build.
Dubbed the “Jumpacan”, the vehicle was originally scheduled to compete in the Mint 400 in March, but the event has since been postponed to December. In the meantime, Steinbacher was able to get the car up and running, and a new video of his shows him taking it out for a spin.

The most obvious upgrade would have to be the tube frame. The car was 3D scanned by California’s SE Motors, who then developed a custom off-road suspension system and chassis bracing. It rides on 35-inch front and 37-inch rear tires, and rather than driving them with the Huracan’s original V10 engine, power is provided by an LS V8 through a manual transmission. The Jumpacan features brakes from a Mustang GT500, and the interior has been stripped and fitted with racing seats and harnesses.
But as cool and impressive as this build is, we can’t help but wonder: how much of a Lamborghini really is it? The exotic V10 is gone, the fighter jet interior is gone, the world-class suspension (even though it wouldn’t be much help off road) is gone, and even the iconic Lamborghini styling is gone since the front and rear have been chopped off. Essentially all that’s left of the original car is the passenger cell. Is it enough to characterize this car as the Lamborghini it once was?
