Everyone likes a good lake outing. But what do you do if you don’t have the time or money to go on one? You can do what YouTuber RC Helistef did and recreate one with radio-controlled vehicles.

The towing vehicle is an Axial Wraith, an electric rock racer with full-time 4WD and solid axles, meaning it’ll be able to handle some rough terrain. It also features upgraded wheels and tires from a Redcat Gen8 rock crawler for a more aggressive look and added off-road capability. The rig is actually a dually as well, and the incredibly detailed camper van body, which includes painted graphics, doors, an interior, air conditioning units, and even a little exhaust pipe, was completely custom made.

Behind the truck is a trailer, on top of which sits a functioning racing boat from WLToys. And because the truck’s electronics are waterproof, not only do we get to see it tow the boat, but also launch it into the water. Once it’s in, we’re treated to a boats-eye view courtesy of an onboard camera to watch it make its way around the lake. The boat’s brushless motor is powered by a 3-cell 11.1V lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery, making it genuinely quick on the water. After all is said and done, the boat pulls back onto the trailer, and it and the truck go on their merry way.

All in all, both the truck and the boat are incredibly impressive for RC vehicles, both in their capability and realism, and you can watch the whole adventure for yourself in the video below.
