BMW introduced the redesigned 4-Series Gran Coupe earlier this year and now spy photographers have snapped pictures of the upcoming Alpina B4 Gran Coupe.
Caught in the early stages of development, the model doesn’t look terribly special at first glance. However, a closer inspection reveals a camouflaged rear bumper and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
While there isn’t much to see at this point, the production model will likely have additional changes. Nothing is official, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see an Alpina-branded front bumper, unique wheels and a special color palette. We can also expect a sport-tuned suspension, a revised digital instrument cluster and an Alpina steering wheel.

Previous reports have suggested the model will be based on the M440i xDrive, which has a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds, before hitting a top speed of up to 155 mph (250 km/h).
However, like the Alpina B3, the B4 Gran Coupe will likely be upgraded to produce 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. That output enables the B3 to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and top out at 188 mph (303 km/h).
While additional information is limited, previous reports have suggested the Alpina B4 Gran Coupe will be introduced next March.
